You need to learn to stay level in the water
You need to learn to pull straight back
You need to learn to breathe effectively
You need to time your rotation so you can accomplish all of the above
Staying level in the water is the foundation for effective swimming.
If you can't do it well, you can't swim feel.
It should be the focus at the initial stages.
